Valia Kalda, meaning warm valley in the local Vlach dialect, is a protected national park with some of the oldest mantle rocks (40 million years old). It is an ecosystem of unique importance and a refuge for the protection of many mammals (brown bear, wolf, fox, wild boar and wild goat, as well as rare species of birds such as the golden eagle) and reptiles.
Description:
We follow dirty roads in the heart of Pindus, where only brown bears and lumberjacks walk, we taste blackberries (depending on the season), we admire the high mountains, the wooded slopes covered with the Balkan Black Pine (a type of tree), the incredible views of the wild nature and of course, we dive into icy waters (if the temperature allows).
We use Land Rover Defender, Jeep Cherokee or Toyota Land cruiser Jeep or Chevrolet Captiva
